Rest Houses in Dhikala Zone

DhikalaDhikala: Dhikala is the most popular destinations in Corbett. Situated at the edge of the broad Patli Dun valley, it is an ideal place to enjoy the stunning beauty of the picturesque valley. The picturesque Kanda ridge is placed at the backdrop and the sensuous Ramganga flowing nearby creates enchanting views. The old rest house at Dhikala, built over a hundred years ago is no less than a beautiful piece of history. One can easily spot wild elephants, hog deer, chital and numerous species of grassland birds.

 

Sarapduli: It is situated on the flat southern bank of the Ramganga. It is placed on the Dhangarhi-Dhikala road. One can spot crocodiles, numerous birds and huge mammals like tiger and elephant.

 

Sultan: It is the first rest house when one drives from Dhangarhi to Dhikala. Named after the Sultan Sot, it is surrounded by dense forest.

 

GairalGairal: This forest is situated on the banks of Ramganga. One can savour the angelic beauty of Ramganga gushing through scenic forests. It also provides pleasant conditions for viewing wildlife and myriads of birds in serenity.

 

Khinnanauli: This newly bulit rest house is known to be an excellent tiger territory. It is a wonderful gateway to various corners of the Park.

 

Kanda: It is perched at an altitude of 1100 m. Being located on the highest elevation, it provides ample opportunity get a lovely view of the Park and the sensuous Ranganga valley below. Though the entire area of Corbett is dotted with Shiwalik type of vegetation but Kanda is wrapped by Himalayan type of vegetation. Himalayan black bear, leopards and gorals are the famous mammals moving fearlessly in this region.

 

MalaniRest Houses in Bijrani Zone

Malani: Situated on the edge of the core zone of the Park, the rest house is lying 12 km due northwest of Bijrani. This is the place where one can enjoy pristine solitude and breathtaking surroundings.

 

Bijrani: During the colonial days, this was the place where the shikaris used to carry out various hunting expeditions. Bijrani has diverse and more dry vegetation.



Rest House in Jhirna Zone

Jhirna: This rest house is situated inside the southern boundary of the Park. It is placed on the road from Ramnagar to Kalagarh. The farming village became a part of the Poject Tiger after 1994. Mainly dominated by scrub, it has become a natural habitat of the tigers. One can sprt colorful birds, mammals such as wild boar, sloth boar and thick patches of bamboo.
